The Austrian violinist and composer Yury Revich won the ECHO Klassik, the International Classical Music Award, and his recording of the Saint-Georges Double Concertos landed in Billboard's US Top 100 Classical Charts in 2021. He made his Carnegie Hall debut at the age of 18 alongside Daniil Trifonov and later debuted with Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto at the Teatro Alla Scala in Milan. Since then, he has performed at venues including the Berlin Philharmonie, Vienna Musikverein, Salle Pleyel, London Cadogan Hall, Vienna Konzerthaus, Alte Oper Frankfurt, Prinzregententheater Munich, Tonhalle Zurich, Leipzig Gewandhaus, BOZAR Brussels and many others. He has appeared as a soloist with La Verdi Milano, the Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz, the Zagreb Soloists, the Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie, the Kammerphilharmonie Potsdam, the Collegium Musicum Basel, the Münchener Symphoniker, the Berlin Symphony Orchestra and the Tonkünstler Orchestra of Lower Austria, he has toured with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and worked with conductors such as Mikhail Pletnev, Liana Isakadze, Sebastian Weigle, Zhang Xian, Duncan Ward, Johannes Schlaefli etc. together. As a chamber musician, he has performed with artists such as Martha Argerich, Steven Isserlis and many others. As an award-winning recording artist, he has recorded 9 CDs for various labels, including SONY and NAXOS. His repertoire includes works for violin and orchestra by composers such as Romberg, Doderer, Piazzolla, Saint-Georges and Vivaldi.
In addition to performing numerous works dedicated to him by composers such as Johanna Doderer and Benjamin Rota, Yury is an enthusiastic composer. His compositions were recently premiered at the Choriner Musiksommer with the Berlin Symphony Orchestra, at the Liszt Festival in Austria, with the Munich Symphony Orchestra at the Summer Proms, the World Space Week 2021 and the World Expo 2021 in Dubai.
In 2023, his album with music by Chevalier St. Georges was included in the official soundtrack of the Netflix series "Bridgerton". In October 2023, he composed and curated special music and multidisciplinary art performances for Art Basel in Paris with his guests Arthur Cadre and Dr. Formalyst. As a traditionally trained classical musician, it has always been important for Yury to collaborate with artists of all kinds within and beyond classical music, and his interest in interdisciplinary and cross-genre collaborations extends to contemporary art, dance, literature and various musical genres. He has worked with Ute Lemper, Sunnyi Melles, Cornelius Obonya, Christiane Hörbiger, Ramon Vargas, Constantin Luser, Pixie Lott, Arotin and Serghei, Gabriel Prokofiev and Gérard Depardieu. In a more classical setting, he has performed with Martha Argerich, Andrea Bocelli, Daniil Trifonov, Steven Isserlis, Paul Badura-Skoda, Sumi Jo, Alexey Igudesman, Ferhan and Ferzan Önder, Angelika Kirchschlager, Cristian Axt and many others.
Several of the artists mentioned above were guests of his concert series "Friday Nights with Yury Revich", which he launched in 2015 and with which he will open his new festival Festival Nights in Vienna in October 2023. Yury was born into a musical family of violinists since the 19th century and started playing the violin at the age of 5.
For over a decade, he has been committed to various charitable and philanthropic causes. He has also been involved in the projects of the Nahum Guzik Foundation and the Mstislav Rostropovich Foundation. His projects include the Austrian gala charity "All for Autism", which he launched in 2015 and turned into one of the most important autism awareness events in Europe. He conceived and hosted the Dreamland Gala for UNICEF for many years. Yury has been an honorary representative of UNICEF Austria since 2021. At the invitation of the Austrian Federal President, Yury played, curated and conducted his own music at the Austria Day concerts at the World Expo 2021/2021 in Dubai and at the Oslo Freedom Forum, and has been featured in Vogue, Forbes Magazine, The Times, ORF, ZDF, Sat1, Puls4, Die Zeit Magazin, etc.
From 2016 to 2022 Yury played on a Stradivarius from 1709; currently he plays on a Guarneri lent by Mr. Lukas Hufnagl and on a violin made especially for him by Alain Carbonar.
