Artists: Philipp Hochmair, The Electric Hand of God
Everyman Reloaded
Philipp Hochmair is Jedermann. In a passionate tour de force, he slips into all the roles and turns Hugo von Hofmannsthal's play into a polyphonic monologue. His Jedermann is a rock star. Driven by guitar riffs and experimental sounds from the band Die Elektrohand Gottes, Hochmair transforms the 100-year-old mystery play into an apocalyptic spoken word concert. Everyone becomes recognizable as a contemporary who is burning up in his insatiable greed for money and intoxication. The theme is both timeless and eternally valid: "What is left of my life when it comes to dying?"
Since 2013, Hochmair has been developing the performance as a work in progress - always on the border between concert, theater and excess.
Press reviews:
"a linguistically, musically and electronically subversive rollercoaster ride through the abysses of a classic - irreverent and yet full of love for sublime poetry and its very own truth."

"The energetic actor rides an inner (and vocal) rollercoaster and turns the old
mystery play a rousing psycho-trip as a one-man show (...) Hochmair lives it, this
Everyone."
